Senator Pia S. Drawing from international models such as the Dementia Village, Cayetano outlined the direction of her potential amendments, building on the bill’s mandate to train healthcare professionals, social workers, and volunteer organizations amid a severe shortage of geriatric specialists. She emphasized the need for a well-planned, state-of-the-art center supported by a “battalion of trained personnel,” along with compassionate features such as spaces where families can stay close to their elderly loved ones.
