Senator Pia S. Cayetano files Senate Resolution No. 1115 for the conferment of the Philippine Senate Medal of Excellence to Carlos Edriel Yulo after his historic feat at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Yulo is the first-ever Filipino Olympic medalist in artistic gymnastics, the first to win two medals in a single Olympic year, the first double gold medalist, and the first male athlete to win an Olympic gold medal.
A proud supporter of Yulo since his training for the 2019 SEA Games, Cayetano highlights how the accomplished gymnast embodies innate passion, perseverance, and diligence as he continues to make his mark and serve as an inspiration to many Filipinos.
