Negros Occidental – Senator Pia S. Cayetano brings her advocacy for better maternal and child care around the country, this time in Negros Occidental.
Yesterday, the Senator’s advocacy arm, Pinay In Action, conducted a Maternal and Child Healthcare seminar in Bacolod City. More than 400 expecting mothers and barangay health workers attended the event at the Bacolod City College Activity Center. This was in partnership with Mayor Albee Benitez.
Today, more than 300 participants including members of women’s groups, daycare workers, senior citizens, and solo parents joined the seminar at the Natalio G. Velez Sports and Cultural Center. The event was organized in partnership with Silay City Mayor Joedith C. Gallego.
Dra. Vivian Eustaquio, the resource speaker from the Office of Sen. Cayetano, discussed prenatal and postnatal care, child nutrition, as well as available health services for solo parents and senior citizens.
This is part of the Senator’s continuing advocacy to support women in their dual roles as primary care-providers in the home and active members of the workforce.
