Health of mothers and babies highlighted at the Pinay In Action (PIA) seminars in Dagupan, San Carlos
Ensuring proper healthcare for mothers and babies is crucial in charting the health and wellbeing of Filipino families and the country’s future.
This was the overarching message of the Pinay In Action (PIA) seminars on maternal and child healthcare that were conducted in two locations in Pangasinan on March 23.
PIA, the women empowerment advocacy arm of Senator Pia S. Cayetano, organized community seminars in the cities of Dagupan and San Carlos, in partnership with 4th District Representative Christopher V.P. De Venecia and Mayor Julier C. Resuello, respectively.
Hundreds of barangay health workers, rural health workers, midwives, and groups of women participated in both seminars.
Senator Pia S. Cayetano has championed several landmark laws on maternal and children’s health, including the Responsible Parenthood and Reproductive Health Act of 2012, the Mandatory Infants and Children Health Immunization Act of 2011, and the Expanded Breastfeeding Promotion Act of 2009, among others. #
