LISBON 23 October 2023 – Philippine Senator Pia S. Cayetano and Mr. Ricardo da Silva Oliveira, President of the Portuguese Padel Federation (Federação Portuguesa de Padel), signed the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on October 20, 2023, which links the Portuguese Padel Federation with the leading Philippine padel organizations in promoting the sport of padel in the Philippines.
Under the signed Memorandum of Agreement, the Portuguese Padel Federation together with Padel Pilipinas League, Inc., and Play Padel Philippines Inc., have agreed to collaborate in promoting the sport of padel in the Philippines through joint initiatives and events that include the sharing of expertise, coaching support, exchange programs, and tournament collaboration, among others, with the aim of strengthening and promoting the sport of padel in the Philippines. The signing ceremony was witnessed by the Philippine Ambassador Celia Anna M. Feria who highlighted the significance of this Memorandum of Agreement as a manifestation of the commitment of both the Philippines and Portugal to promote sports diplomacy. The aims of the recently signed MOA reflect the priorities in the field of sports cooperation under the existing Cultural Agreement between the Philippines and Portugal, which was signed in 2002.
